Robert Spragens, Jr.

Robert M. Spragens, Jr. has been a partner at Spragens & Higdon, PSC, or its predecessor law firms,  located in Lebanon, Kentucky since 1969.  His practice areas include Civil Litigation; Administrative Law; Appellate Practice; and Real Estate Law.  He occasionally accepts assignments as a mediator and as an expert witness.   

He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Louisville in 1966 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky in 1969 and was admitted to practice in Kentucky that same year. 

He served as City Attorney, Lebanon, Kentucky from 1974 to 1976, and as Assistant Commonwealth Attorney, Eleventh Judicial District, from 1976 to 1981.

He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association where he served on the Board of Governors from 1977 to1983.  He has been, since 1988, a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers where he served as Kentucky Chair from 2001 to 2003.  He is a member of the Kentucky Defense Counsel where he served as a Director from 1984 to 1987.  Since 1978, he has served on the Board of Directors of Farmers National Bank.  He was admitted to the Georgia Bar Association in 1991.

He was given the distinction of being selected a Kentucky Super Lawyer in 2007 and again in 2008.  The National Law Journal named him as one of Kentucky’s Top Rated Lawyers in Civil Litigation in 2012.  He earned Martindale Hubbell’s AV Rating in 1984 and was awarded, in 2016, that publication’s Preeminent Peer Rating for Highest Level of Professional Excellence.
